What is the NYA?
The Newtown Youth Academy is a not-for-profit, community-centered organization committed to the health, fitness and general well-being of all Newtown-area residents—and its young people in particular.
What Does the NYA Provide?A place to play and gather! The NYA Sports Complex provides a safe and positive environment for community activity, fitness, training and sports competitions.
Who Pays for It?
This building was constructed with private funding; it was not paid for with tax dollars, nor does the NYA receive any revenue from the town, state or federal government.
How Does it Work?
The NYA offers its members quality health and fitness services at competitive prices. All revenue—from the Food Court to the Fitness Center and everything in between—is applied toward operating expenses only. Any additional funds are channeled directly into NYA programs and services—as well as charitable donations to other community organizations.
